| EscoTalk - web pages for the sight-impaired |

It
doesn't matter how good the graphics, how brilliant the colours or how loud
the music: your web site has little or no appeal if the user is sight-impaired. True, there are tools already to magnify the screen, and
others which convert the web page to spoken text, but such systems are relatively
expensive and sometimes difficult to use. And you can of course have a text-only site - but this
doesn't talk to the user and easily allow easy interaction. Our system, EscoTalk, costs your web users exactly
nothing - it can be downloaded from the link provided below. And you don't need any new hardware: there is no need for
expensive voice servers, and there is virtually no additional load on your server, with
all the processing taking place "client side". Voices are UK English (others are available); the product only works with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Product support free, provided you are using the standard features. If you have special requirements, such as developing an intranet application, we will be pleased to provide a quotation.

Where's
the catch? Well you, the web site owner, have to purchase a licence to
speech-enable your site. Once that's done, you have to make some changes to your web
pages. These changes are not difficult, it's only a matter of either adding speech at the end of the web page, or providing new speech-enabled pages linked to your home page. Because the speech is added as comments, your web page will still view as you want it. No need to filled with dread at learning a complex new language: it really is simple to use. Complete our application form (see below), receive the entire package without obligation, and see for yourself. Costs? Annual licence costs depend on the target audience.
Charities dealing with the sight impaired can have a licence at no charge. And remember, to the end user, the software is free. |

What to do next...complete our application form, and will be sent the licence, end-user software and manuals (WordPad/Word format) on a CD, and will be able to use this without charge or commitment for one month. You can then decide whether or not to commit for a year. Longer commitments periods can be arranged if preferred. |
